Troy had fled the clearing. He was determined to find the castle and get to Victoria as fast as he could. He didn't know the way, nor did he know how he was going to get inside without at least traumatizing a few humans. He just had to get to her, his one and only long lost lover. Troy walked aimlessly through the trees, trying to think of a plan. He had no idea how long it had been since the sight in the clearing, and he didn’t how long it was until daylight. When he awoke, Troy used all of his strength to push away the heavy granite covering of his coffin. He got up and looked around, discovering that everything from the night before had vanished. The other two coffins, the torches, the jewels, and the other vampires were nowhere to be seen. The door of the room was broken down.    Troy walked up the stairs to find that the room above had also been stripped of everything that had furnished it the previous night. "This is odd..." The couple glanced at each other and then beckoned for the visitor to come in. Troy looked around the tiny house. It was furnished with broken chairs and a dusty table. It looked as if no one had lived there for years.    Troy focused his attention back to the couple, and saw that they had opened a trapdoor in the floor.    The three vampires traveled down a series of stairs and eventually came to a large black door. The vampire was in a cave. There was the portal, with all its swirling colors. He thought he heard "Control your instincts." being shouted at him from the other side. Troy wondered what the wizard meant by that.    Troy followed the winding path of the unfamiliar cave until he came to an opening. It was daylight in this foreign world. He immersed himself in shadow, looking for a passageway or something of the sort that he might sleep inside. He noticed a large boulder to his left. Easily, he slid it over to reveal a small, dark chamber that would be perfect for a nap. He entered, pulling the boulder over the hole, sealing himself inside.

Troy peeked out his window, his face hidden in the shadows, as he watched the sun set. As soon as the last ray of light disappeared behind the hills, he grabbed a small package and ran out the door.    He could run fast. No, fast was an understatement.
